Maarten Vleeschhouwer

Maarten Vleeschhouwer is a Policy Officer at De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank and supervisor of banks, pension funds and insurance companies. For the past two years Maarten has worked on the issue of sustainable finance and climate risks. Maarten is one of the authors of DNB’s recent report of climate-related risks in the Dutch financial, called ‘Waterproof?’. Maarten has also served as special advisor to board member Frank Elderson, advising Frank regarding the national Platform for Sustainable Finance as well as on the EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance.

Together with his colleagues, Maarten is currently focusing on the recently launched Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System, of which Frank Elderson has been elected as the first chair.

Maarten was born in 1987 and holds an MA in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
