Jeroen Loots

ASN Bank

Jeroen Loots has been working in the field of impact investing and sustainability for more than twenty years. Since 2011 in the role of Senior Sustainability Advisor at ASN Bank. Jeroen is responsible for ASN Bank’s policy on climate change and biodiversity, including the development and implementation of long-term goals and foot printing methodologies in these areas. In 2015 ASN Bank initiated the Platform Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) to promote and inspire bottom up and open source cooperation in the financial sector on the important theme of climate change. To date twelve Dutch financial institutions, Achmea, ABN AMRO, ACTIAM, APG-ABP, ASN Bank, FMO, MN, PGGM, De Volksbank, Stichting Pensioenfonds Metaal and Technology (PMT), Pension Fund Foundation Metalektro (PME) and Triodos Bank, have joined the platform (PCAF).

The aim of this platform is to further develop methods of measuring the climate impact of their investments and financing. At the Climate Summit in Paris in 2015 the platform members presented the Dutch Carbon Pledge. The pledge is a call to the negotiators at the climate conference in Paris to consider the role played by investors and financial institutions in achieving climate targets.
Prior to this, Jeroen was a Programme Manager at the DOEN Foundation, working in the fields of sustainable product chains (palm oil, soy, wood, coffee, fish and cacao), microfinance, venture capital and sme finance. Before that Jeroen worked as a policy advisor at the Dutch Ministry for the Environment and at the Dutch Parliament for the Dutch Social Democratic Party.
