Marek van Genderen


Marek van Genderen is the Senior Investment Manager at PGGM’s Long-Term Equity Strategy team, which manages PGGM’s €1 billion impact investing equity portfolio. In that bottom-up and fundamentally driven active portfolio, PGGM focuses on companies that offer attractive long term financial returns and provide impact across the following four themes: 1) Food Security, 2) Climate Change, 3) Water Scarcity and 4) Access to Healthcare. Marek is the lead analyst for all companies falling under the Food Security theme. 


Prior to joining PGGM in 2011, Marek has spent 3 years at The Boston Consulting Group, where he contributed to various strategic and operational projects in the financial and the consumer staples industry. Before that, Marek has spent 5 years at Citigroup’s Capital Markets division in New York, where he was a quantitative analyst responsible for structuring financial derivative products. Marek is #1 rated in Extel's 2016 ranking of Dutch buy-side equity analysts. He has graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
