Marta Janković

APG Asset Management

Marta is responsible for the sign-off on the ESG aspects of all new investment proposals at APG Asset Management in the private equity, hedge funds, commodities and other illiquid asset classes, including evaluation of investments that focus on addressing sustainability challenges. She also oversees the monitoring of existing investments on their ESG performance. Marta practiced law for over 10 years with a focus on investment funds and corporate law. Prior to joining APG, she was an in-house counsel at SVG, a London based private equity fund of funds business, where she focussed on the structuring and development of fund products. Marta also led SVG's CSR Committee and oversaw the implementation of ESG considerations into investment practices. She previously practiced law in the funds team at King & Wood Mallesons. 

Marta is a member of Invest Europe’s Board of Directors, its LP Council and also a member of Invest Europe’s Responsible Investment Roundtable. Marta contributed to the development of the Invest Europe Professional Standards Handbook and Investor Reporting Guidelines, teaches the Invest Europe Responsible Investment Masterclass and, more broadly, promotes professional standards and responsible investment practices throughout the private funds industry. Marta is also a member of the PRI Private Equity Advisory Committee and the PRI Hedge Funds Advisory Committee and has contributed to a number of PRI publications/guidance documents on responsible investment. She is a frequent conference speaker and commentator on ESG topics related to alternative investments.
